Charles Purton Imports had its beginning as Phillips Cycles and Toys in 1957 established by our current managing directors father, Mr. William Morris Purton Phillips. 

The import distribution business traded as WMPPhillips at that time. The company underwent a metamorphosis in name in 1979 when our current managing Director Mr. William Charles Phillips joined the business.

To distinguish and make a more distinguishable difference between the Imports distribution business from the then retail business, a combination of father and sons second and third names resulted in a renamed entity; Charles Purton Imports.

The Phillips family name still plays a major role within the company today.

Phillips bicycles, tricycles, scooters and unicycles are one of the major brands that the company distributes throughout Australia and around the world.

The Phillips brand has provided many generations, an introduction to cycling fun.

CPI has continued to build on its strong base of cycle parts and accessories, operating a world wide sourcing policy, aiming to bring the bicycle user in Australia the world's best brands.
